The week started with Sky Go reaching a million downloads, the Motorola Atrix mobile phone dropped in price, whilst Carphone Warehouse and Nokia got a new direction by teaming up with One Direction.
Earlier on in the week, LG introduced a new Android Qwerty slider phone, Orange leaked an Acer mobile and the HTC Sensation XE handset became available to order.
Midweek, HTC launched the HTC Rhyme phone, Motorola’s tough Android Defy+ mobile phone is now arriving at the end of September and O2 is exclusively selling the HTC Rhyme ladies handset.
Later on in the week, a Sub £100 Huawei Blaze budget Android mobile phone is said to be arriving in October, the SanDisk’s 64GB microSD card became available to buy and O2 introduced picture sending to Twitter by MMS.
At the end of the week, Microsoft announced Windows Phone ‘Mango’ is arriving in the next two weeks, Orange and Barclaycard announced the NFC enabled Samsung Wave 578, whilst Three unveiled the Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman mobile phone and Xperia arc S handset are coming to their network.

The biggest story of the week was HTC announcing their latest smartphone in the HTC Rhyme, with a range of accessories and a design that are geared up for the gentler sex.

The next most significant piece came from O2, who has made public that it will exclusively be carrying the feminine orientated HTC Rhyme handset, which has only just been announced.

The third largest news item was when SanDisk started selling the largest ever microSD card available to handsets, in the SanDisk Mobile Ulta 64GB microSDXC memory card, with a price attached of $219.99, or around £140.

The following most significant story came when Microsoft made public the next version of their mobile phone operating system, with the codename of Windows Phone 7 ‘Mango’, will start to be deployed within the next two weeks.
