ZTE Skate mobile phone AKA Orange Monte Carlo on sale tomorrow for £219

And without being tied to Orange

On-line mobile phone reseller Clove has announced the ZTE flagship Skate handset will be available to buy on Tuesday 27th of September, for under £220 and without any Orange branding whatsoever.

The ZTE Skate is the OEM company’s well-known flagship mobile phone, which has previously only been available on Orange – with the moniker of Monte Carlo.

Orange began selling the ZTE Skate in early august this year, which was tied to that mobile phone network and on pay as you go deals with a cost of £149.99, with a £10 top up fee.

ZTE launched the Skate at Mobile World Congress this year in Barcelona, as their flagship mobile phone to compete with the likes of HTC and Samsung – only with a low cost attached.

The ZTE Skate arrives with a 4.3-inch 480×800 TFT capacitive touchscreen, with an 800MHz processor, a 5 megapixel camera and 512MB of memory, with support for 32GB microSD cards and Android ‘Gingerbread’ 2.3.

In July, ZTE announced they will be retailing their phones under their own name for the very first time and without any mobile phone network branding, such as Orange and Vodafone.

One Mobile Ring published exclusive hands on pictures of the ZTE Skate, at the launch event here for selling their own phones under their name.
