Samsung launches second Windows Phone 7 mobile phone and first Mango handset

At the same time and in the same device

South Korean electronics company Samsung has announced the Omnia W, their first official Windows Phone 7.5 ‘Mango’ mobile and only their second handset to run the latest Microsoft mobile phone operating system.

Samsung’s Omnia W follows on from their recent name change convention, where the letter following the phone’s name relates to a new product category – with the ‘W’ standing for Wonder, which is a high quality, strategic mobile, for those seeking a balance between style and performance.

The Omnia W arrives with a 3.7-inch WVGA 800×480 Super AMOLED touch screen, whilst powered by a 1.4 GHz processor, with 512MB of RAM and 8GB of Internal Memory, a 5 megapixel camera with an LED flash and a VGA front facing variant and running from the Windows Phone 7.5 ‘Mango’ OS.

Samsung’s previous Omnia 7 ‘Windows Phone 7’ device tipped up with a 4-inch display, a 1GHz CPU and only one camera – a rear-facing 5MP version.

The Samsung Omnia W will be available at the end of October, starting in Italy and will be gradually rolled out globally which includes Europe, CIS, Latin America, Africa, South East and South West Asia.
