Seattle based software developers Microsoft has started to deploy their very latest Windows Phone 7.5 ‘Mango’ operating system to mobile phones that shipped with the first version of Windows Phone 7.

Microsoft has announced the beginning of the delivery of its Windows Phone 7.5 update, which is set to offer consumers over 500 new Windows Phone features that are focussed around three key themes – easier communications, smarter apps, and the Internet.

Windows Phone 7.5 ‘Mango’ now has a People Hub with one touch access to Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter – with the last two being new to this update.

It is also possible to group friends together, pin them to your Start screen to get live updates and easily text, email and IM them all at once.

Windows Phone 7.5 has Facebook Chat, Messenger, check-ins and photo tagging all built-in for staying connected.

Internet Explorer 9 is a part of Windows Phone 7.5, with the hardware acceleration and the same code base as the desktop version. There is also a Local Scout feature that provides suggestions and prioritised local search results on restaurants, shopping and things to do so you can live – just like a local, no matter where you are.

Windows Phone 7.5 is available for free to existing Windows Phone customers and will be delivered gradually in the weeks ahead, with the update being available to most of Windows Phone customers around the world by the end of October.
