One Mobile Ring is attending Nokia’s annual symposium in London this week. This is the Finnish phone manufacturer’s launching forum for handsets and technology, for the coming six months to a year.
In this feature we are highlighting what we believe will be seen at Nokia World 2011, which is one of the most anticipated events in the Nokia calendar and for quite some time too.
2011 heralds in the seventh Nokia World conference since 2006, with the N95 being notably launched in Amsterdam that year and the XpressMusic range of phones first appearing at the 2009 event.
In February this year, Nokia announced a partnership with Microsoft which will see their Windows Phone 7 operating system being deployed onto Nokia handsets – instead of the Symbian platform, which has only ever been used by the Finnish.
One Mobile Ring believes Nokia World 2011 will see the first mobile phone from this new venture, if not several and with a form factor and design that will be unique to Nokia.
The flagship device could have a look similar to their N9 joint Intel-Nokia MeeGo OS based handset, with a curved AMOLED 3.9-inch screen and a sleek design – which based upon leaked images, will be a reality now.
The other Windows Phone 7 Nokia mobiles could range in specifications and features, to suit all tastes and budgets with low entry models that will be a first for Microsoft too.
Nokia’s own Symbian operating system will also still be a feature of the event, as One Mobile Ring has been told by the Finnish phone company there will be more handsets coming out running the OS over the course of the 12 months.
There will also be more information to the roll-out of their latest Symbian ‘Belle’ platform which is due to be deployed onto existing devices running the Symbian Anna operating system – replacing the Symbian^3 OS.
One Mobile Ring will be live blogging from the opening keynote speech on Wednesday 26th October; stay tuned to our Nokia World 2011 – live blog here, for all the information as it is being announced
