Without voiding the warranty
Popular Microsoft authorised mobile phone unlocker ChevronWP7 has created an easy to use unlocking application and method for Windows Phone 7 ‘Mango’ based handsets, which does not void the warranty.
ChevronWP7 has launched https://labs.chevronwp7.com, which offers full access to a Microsoft run WP7 mobile phone and in the same way as developers have access to their mobiles – for features such as the installing of non-Windows Market place applications and writing applications.
The ChevronWP7 unlocking tool requires a purchasable token for $9 from PayPal, where a 32-bit or 64-bit client is then downloaded to unlock the phone.
A queuing system has been implemented to unlock the actual phone and OS, where the phone in then fully accessible after a period of time.
This opens up a Windows Phone 7 handset for non-Windows Market applications to be used and also for code to be written for the platform, which reportedly officially costs $99 from Microsoft.
There are already a range of WP7 apps that can be used with this unlocking method, from enabling the phone as a web server to a screen capture app.
