Seattle based software developers Microsoft has announced a new Bing mobile app, with HTML5 for Google Android and Apple based products.
Microsoft has released this news in a blog post to their community website where Bing is now based around HTML5 in the Android app, with that format being accessible on m.bing.com from a mobile web browser on a phone or tablet.
Bing’s goal is to build a HTML5 mobile experience which leverages different platforms, which includes the camera and voice search whilst making the functions of the apps consistent across all the platforms.
The Bing update includes maps with list and split views, deals, video domain and transit with real time information.
The map list and split view provides a way to synchronise business listings and directions on a single map, whilst the deal function is only USA based right now, but offers access to local deals from more than 100 providers. The video domain launched last month on m.bing,com and is now available on iPhone, where the transit and real-time feature was only available on m.bing.com and is now in the Android app.
Microsoft has noted the new app is available for Android and iPhone devices in the United States, where the company is also working on releasing an app with the same features to RIM and Windows Phone 7 devices.
