Asus to show Ice Cream Sandwich on a tablet in December

Before January release

One Mobile Ring has been contacted by Asus over the newly announced Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime, where we have learnt the tablet will be aired to the media next month running Android ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’ 4.0.

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime was unveiled today as the first tablet to run from Nvidia’s Tegra 3 chipset – the world’s first quad core processor.

This Transformer Prime will ship with Android ‘Honeycomb’ 3.2, but will be upgradeable within time to the new Google mobile ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’ 4.0. This is a platform that will be seen on both phones and tablets, whilst taking elements from the larger screen based operating system.

Asus will be demoing the Eee Pad Prime for the very first time running Android 4.0 at a joint Intel-Asus event on December 1st in London, where One Mobile Ring will be in attendance to bring you hands on pictures and video from the world’s first outing of ICS on a tablet.

The Asus spokesperson that contacted OMR noted that Asus has worked closely with Google on the build that will run on the Eee Pad Transformer Prime, where this public outing next month will aid in consumers determining whether to buy the tablet or not – with Ice Cream Sandwich helping in swaying them.
