LogMeIn releases remote mobile phone software

For troubleshooting handsets anywhere

Popular desktop PC remote software company LogMeIn has brought out a new version of their LogMeIn Rescue software, which offers mobile device configuration capabilities anywhere with an internet connection.

LogMeIn Rescue now offers secure and quick troubleshooting for mobile devices, whilst away from the desk and nowhere near the usual means of technical support.

This software has been designed for mobile operators, customer care organisations and IT helpdesks – with rescue providing a web-based tool for remotely supporting tablets and smartphones.

Rescue is compatible with devices running the Apple iOS, Google’s Android, Research In Motion’s BlackBerry, Nokia’s Symbian, Microsoft’s Windows Phone OS, along with Windows and Mac OS X based computers.

Helpdesk staff can now connect to any products running these platforms, solve any problems, push configuration settings and securely remote a device anywhere with just an Internet connection.

This new release builds on Rescue’s mobile services, along with introducing remote configuring of iOS and Android settings, including Wi-Fi network setup and Access Point Name (APN) settings; remote configure device permissions, with pushing device pass code settings for iPhones and iPads.

There is also an ability to create a customised iOS helpdesk, or self-help shortcut app icons on a device giving iPad and iPhone users the ability to directly connect to quick help guides or even web chat through a single touch.
