Joint Ericsson and STMicroelectronics venture ST-Ericsson, which provides semiconductors to mobile phone companies has announced it has been chosen by Nokia to be the new supplier for Windows Phone 7 devices.
Nokia has opted for ST-Ericsson to supply their NovaThor product, which is said to be able to extend Windows Phone devices to new price points and geographies.
ST-Ericsson develops and delivers a portfolio of mobile and wireless semiconductor solutions, across the broad spectrum of mobile technologies.
NovaThor is an integrated complete mobile platform, with performance and power optimised ARM processing cores, advanced graphics and multimedia engines, with the latest mobile broadband and connectivity technologies.
This is based around ARM multi-core CPUs and the latest 2D & 3D technologies, with high definition video recording and HDMI, WIFI, BluetoothT, FM and GPS support.

One Mobile Ring believes ST-Ericsson could aid in producing the world’s very first dual core Windows Phone 7 device and from Nokia too.
