Established OEM phone manufacturer Huawei has announced the Vision handset and MediaPad tablet is coming to the UK, with the phone arriving before Christmas at Phones 4u on £25 a month contracts and the tablet is due in the first quarter of 2012 – for £275, plus VAT.
Huawei is well known for making phones for mobile phone networks to rebrand under their own name, such as the Vodafone Smart or Orange Barcelona – where the China based company has started retailing their products under their own name, for the first time.
Huawei Vision was unveiled in August this year, with its unibody 9.9mm thin case and 3D user interface.
The phone arrives with a 3.7-inch QVGA capacitive touch screen, whilst powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSN 8255 processor, with a 5 megapixel auto focus camera and LED flash that is capable of 720p video recording to 2GB of memory.
The Vision contains the Android ‘Gingerbread’ 2.3 OS and a carousel interface that offers access to 17 home screens from a 3D rotating display, which has a similar look to the HTC EVO 3D’s UI only without the true 3D experience.
Huawei’s MediaPad tablet was announced in June, as the world’s first 7-inch tablet running Android ‘Honeycomb’ 3.2 and in a familiar unibody form factor.
The device has a 1280×800 IPS screen, with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and a 5 megapixel camera, plus a 1.3MP front facing variant and a miniHDMI socket, with 8GB of internal storage and support for 32GB microSD cards.
MediaPad is capable of full HD 1080p video playback, whilst only measuring 10.5mm thin and weighing in at 390grams for the WIFI only version.
